Manual

Content and homebrew

Import from Fight Club 5, Game Master 5 and 5eTools, then inspect, edit and troubleshoot the result.

Start with the guide for your source file. Structured content and the _sheetling pages are for authors who need to control the mechanics that reach the sheet.

  1. Library and rules versions

Keep source files private, choose which characters can use them, and share a copy with a party when needed.

  2. Import previews and errors

Read the file summary, choose destinations, understand warnings and know when anything has been saved.

  3. Importing from Fight Club 5

Bring in a character backup or compendium, see what becomes a character or Library source, and find the limits.

  4. Importing from Game Master 5

Bring a campaign or stat block into a party, see where adventures and creatures land, and check the known gaps.

  5. Importing 5eTools JSON

Add supported JSON content to the Library, understand the required shape and see when `_sheetling` is useful.

  6. Structured content

Which fields become mechanics, which sentences remain text, and what the engine deliberately leaves on the card.

  7. The `_sheetling` block

Where it goes, its seven keys, one worked entry, the rules about ids and pools, and the same block inside a Fight Club 5 file.

  8. Effect kinds

Every effect the engine can run, grouped by what it changes on the sheet, with the fields each one takes and a real example of each.

  9. Field reference

Every raw 5eTools field the importer reads, one table per entry type, generated from the importer itself.

  10. Troubleshooting

The symptoms a real file produces, each with its cause and the one-line fix.
