Import previews and errors
Read the file summary, choose destinations, understand warnings and know when anything has been saved.

Before saving
- Import a file… detects the format. The first line states what the file contains.
- Each part has its own row, checkbox and destination: characters go to the roster, compendiums to the Library, campaigns to a party you manage.
- A part with no valid destination is disabled and says why. For example, a campaign cannot land until you manage a party.
- Closing the preview writes nothing. Selecting Import saves the checked parts.
How much room a file takes
Each account can store 100 MB of imported files. The limit counts the files as stored, compressed, not their size on your disk. A 50 MB Fight Club XML file usually takes about a fifth of that.
- The Library shows how much your imports take so far.
- In the preview, the compendium row says what this file takes and how much room is left after it. If it does not fit, Import is greyed out and the line says how much room is free.
- Deleting an import frees its room. Replacing a file with a new version counts only the difference.
- A file a party manager shares with you does not count toward your limit.
Reports
- Not imported means one source entry produced no Sheetling entry. The report names it and gives the reason.
- Imported with a detail dropped means the entry exists, but one field could not be represented. The rest of that entry remains available.
- A count such as N of M spells derive something counts entries that produced at least one mechanic. Text-only cards are still imported when their type is supported.
- A produced subclass may still be unreachable if no class in the same rules version refers to it. Build a test character when reachability matters.
Duplicates and partial results
- Every file part is selected separately. A backup may add its compendium without adding its characters, or the other way around.
- Two entries with the same id in one import are refused. Two sources with the same name resolve by registration order, while shipped content wins a name collision.
- The report is the record of entries and details that did not map. Do not treat a clean file summary as proof that every prose sentence became a mechanic.
