Accounts, sync and backups
What stays in one browser, what an account adds, how offline edits return, and how to make a backup.
Local play
- Continue without an account keeps characters and library files in this browser. Nothing is sent to the server.
- Local characters do not sync to another device. Parties are unavailable because a party needs an online account.
- Sign in to sync returns to the account screen. When local characters meet an account, Sheetling asks what to bring across rather than copying them silently.
Accounts and offline edits
- Signed-in characters are cached after they have loaded once. They can open without a connection.
- The status pill distinguishes Saved, Saving…, Offline — N changes waiting, Changed elsewhere and Couldn't save.
- An offline edit stays queued and syncs when the connection returns. A conflict is shown rather than choosing one copy without asking.
Backups
- Export & print → Sheetling file makes a self-contained character backup, including the portrait and references to library files.
- Importing that backup creates a new character id. It does not overwrite an existing character.
- Print / Save as PDF opens the browser's print dialog with the sheet's print layout.
